Module 5
21st Century Skills for Students and Teachers/ ICT Competency Framework for Teachers
Technology is becoming a big part our education systems. Interactive classroom not only help teacher teach all students at once, but helps with the “Technology Literacy” (Doering Robyler 2013). The interactive lessons will help with the “Knowledge Creation” (Doering Robyler 2013), which is intended to help increase productivity.
Technology use based on problem solving
With interactive lessons, you allow student to become engaged into their own work. The book states, “Students who learn by creating their own products with technologies report higher engagement in learning.” (Doering Robyler 2013) In an interactive classroom you can provide an environment that supports the students. Allowing students to become engage with a powerpoint, that they can answer through their computer or phone device offers “Visual Literacy”, where picture replace text as a communication media. (Doering Robyler 2013)
Constructivist vs. Objectivist
With the way technology is moving through our education system, I believe constructivist best describe the use of interactive classroom and flip charts. Constructivist is hands on instruction and student centered. (Doering Roblyer 2013) the teacher should be the only in the classroom teaching, student teach teachers with everyday experiences. Knowledge is constructed, not transmitted. (Doering Robyler 2013)
Flipchart
This flipchart I found is a writing organization flip chart. This flipchart help with organization of a written work and type of work it is. It helps to be hands on with your students. This would be an “Instructional Technology” (Doering Robyler 2013) instrument. Through this flip chart this will help with self-efficacy (Doering Robyler 2013) which is the belief in their own ability to accomplish the action necessary to learn.
Here is an example of a flipchart.

Module 4

English 10 Literature Wiki
This wiki space, is a 10 grade literature page for Bradford High school. Wikis are a collection of web pages collected in an online community that encourages collaboration. (Doering Roblyer 223) The students use to site to discuss readings from class. This would be a good way to incorporate “Web-Based Learning.”(Doering Roblyer 238) I would like to create a similar page, but I would want the kids to use it as an outlet to express their free writing such as poetry. With the opportunity to get and deliver positive feedback from their classmates work.

Scrolling Text Widget
The scrolling text slide show set up, is designed to give your wiki a face lift. Creating a scrolling text gives a teacher another avenue to post information for the wiki space. I would use it to post picture from class or from some of the literature works. I can use it as a reminder about “Electronic Mentoring,” where students write for distance audience helps motivate and do more.(Doering Roblyer 242)

Free
Widgets

Quote of the Day Widget
This quote of the day widget, is design to allow to insert different quotes for your wiki space. This HTML widget can be aligned vertically alongside your wiki space.HTML is the internet standard for how web pages are formatted.(Doering Roblyer 249) I would use it to inspire kids from past authors to write and read more. In order to become better at your craft you have to practice it. It can be a great way to involve the kids by allowing them to insert their own quotes.

Web Based Lesson

This web based lesson cite helps you create virtual field trips for your class. Electronic field trips fills classroom screens with visual images of place consider to offer some educational value. (Doering Roblyer 239) I would use this avenue to create a trip to search for author’s history, which will help understand their work. Giving them the opportunity to research and take the virtual field trip can become something exciting and different.

Module Three

The way the world works now, you have to be able to search the web and be web literate. As a teacher you have to stay on your toes in order to keep the kids interested. Having access to the web can allow you to revert to video about the subject matter at hand. So you have to start off by understand how and what to look for regarding websites.
What do URLs tell you/students about web sites?
“URLs are uniform resources locations and can better known as internet addresses” (Roblyer Doering 218). When searching for a site or web page you have to know where to put it.   “The line where the URLs is entered is called the address line.” (Roblyer Doering 218) The domain designator explains a lot for the student. Some of the designators are; .com, .edu, .net, .org. For example if a student see and website such as https://www.miles.edu/admissions, the .edu expresses to them that it’s a website of higher education.
How can learning to use search engines help you/students find better information?
Understanding how to use search engines can cut down on the time and miscellaneous use of the search site your using. According to the book “the search engine site provides a lists of topics you can click on.”(Roblyer Doering 219) You can search for a passage that you’re looking for in a book, and stumble on an hit that provide information from scholarly articles which can provide a different outlook on the subject matter. Hits are “pages listed as a result of the search” (Roblyer Doering 219)
What is a Podcast?
A podcast is digitized audio files often saved in mp3 file format. (Roblyer Doering 224) The difference between a podcast and any other audio file you can just simply upload to a computer, is that a podcast can be syndicated or subscribed to. This where you as a teacher can create a page just for your student to perform  their poetry. Podcast typically resembles a radio broadcast or interview. (Roblyer Doering 224) Student can host there podcast with others reverting back to lesson that was covered prior in class.
Google
Google is a search engine site. A search engine special searching program designed to help locate things. (Robuler Doering 219) Google is the first site I go to for everything I need to look for. Images, videos, and other informal outlets are easy to find. I would use it to find different diagrams for how to structure a sentence and even to help me find information for powerpoints. “The pages listed as a result of the search are sometimes called hits.”(Roblyer Doering 219)

ZOHO

Zoho is a site that allows you take your desk with you. As a teacher it’s important to have a backup plan for that misplaced jump drive. As a teacher or student you able to create documents and saved them with having to carry anything around with you. It’s saved as a bookmark on my timeline .Bookmarks are “created list or an organizational online tool.”(Roblyer Doering 218) It would be good to hash tag this site on twitter. “A prefix consisting of a # sign and a topic name” (Roblyer Doering 221)
